The 2008 summer season at Greenwood Park/Bells Lake is quickly approaching! We are approximately two months away for summer weather, swim club events, activities with friends and family as well as barbecues, volleyball, movie night, teen splash, frogs swim team, and other exciting activities. We all look forward to a successful 2008 summer season. The swim club’s opening weekend will be Saturday, May 24 (Memorial Day Weekend) through Monday, May 26 from 11am-9pm. The club hours will be weekends only through June 14. The Saturday and Sunday hours will be 11am-9pm. The swim club will be open full time after June 14 and the club’s hours will be as follows: · Monday-Friday 12pm-9pm · Saturday-Sundays 11am-9pm · July 4th 11am-10pm · Labor Day 11am-7pm IMPROVEMENTS: The Board of Directors has been meeting through the fall and winter with the objective of enhancing the swim club’s property. The biggest change for this season will be the relocation of the basketball court to the back area of the swim club. A second 20 x 40 party tent will be installed on part of the old court for the members use. This project will include the removal of the fencing and most of the existing asphalt court. The lower green shed will also be relocated. These improvements will help alleviate the overcrowding of the lower picnic area. In addition, an updated sound system will be installed for your listening enjoyment and a new shower will replace the existing one by pool side. We believe the improvement will help continue to keep Greenwood Park/Bells Lake as Washington Township’s PREMIER swim club! The Greenwood Park Frogs swim team had another successful year in 2007. The Frogs are a team of the future, carrying on the great tradition. Our coach, Lauren O’Donnell and the assistant coaches will be returning in 2008! The swim team sign ups will be held on Thursday, April 24 at the 11/12 cafeteria from 7pm-9pm at WTHS. Lastly, please remember to submit your 2008 membership applications for processing. New in 2008 we have added the option of paying your membership with a credit card.
