Frog News

Many thanks to all Frogs, Families and Friends…

Time flies when it’s the summer, you’re swimming fast and having fun! With our 2008 season almost in the books, our April team sign-ups fade to a distant memory.  The Mighty Frogs of Greenwood Park stood their ground in a division where the competition was close, many opponents were old friends and new venues were seen for the first time in decades. It certainly was refreshing to compete against teams that were similar in size and evenly matched with the Frogs. Well done team!

The Frogs took to the blocks this year with some lofty goals and delivered with some very impressive performances. Your hard work training in practice every day has paid off nicely. When you consider the fact that a margin of only 35 points separated the team from a record of 4 wins against what would have been only 1 loss, illustrates how far we have come as a team in the past year. Hats off to all swimmers for contributing to the team’s success, and achieving your own as well. It was a great year and we look forward to towing the line in 2009! THANK-YOU FROGS!

My sincere thanks to all the volunteers who gave of their time to assist with meets, preparations, parties, trips, pep rallies and planning. Running a swim team is no small feat and I’m not lost on the efforts you all gave to support the Frogs. Thanks to all our Officials, timers, lane judges, card runners, scorers, ribbon writers, Penny-Auction leaders, bake-table folks, meet set-up and take down helpers, Team Moms, and Meet-day Moms who helped get our Frogs on the blocks! Thanks to our Swim Team Chairman, Rob Mele for all your support, our Swim Team Committee for all the work you do all year and our Coaches for their dedication to helping our Frogs be the best they can be. And finally, our thanks to all Frog parents for your continued support of our Frogs. We offer our gratitude for helping to make the team great and for carrying on the great summer traditions of Greenwood Park.

See you all next year....

All the best...

Erik Pedersen – Tri-County Rep
