SUMMERTIME TOLLS AT BEAUTIFUL BELLS LAKE… FROGS SWIM TEAM TAKES TO THE POOL IN MAY. Did you know how close you are to a bona-fide oasis? Nestled on the shore of 30 acre Bells Lake in Washington Township sits the Greenwood Park Bells Lake Community Club. People in the know have been flocking to Greenwood Park for over four decades. And who could blame them? Anglers, swimmers and boaters take delight in our private lake’s beautiful, serene setting each summer from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Not big on putting worms on hooks? - then relax by the beach at lakeside, cool off in the pool, take in the awesome sun sets, join a spirited game of volleyball or hoops or test your culinary creativity by firing up one of the many in-ground grills that dot the property. There is something for everyone at Greenwood Park. Among the Club’s premier attractions is its fabled Tri-County Swim Team, the mighty Frogs! Following a tradition started in the early ‘70s by local Bells Lake residents, the Frogs have enjoyed a storied history that originated in Bells Lake itself. Before the current pool was built, the Frogs actually held swim team practice in the lake. Now that’s true Tri-County Swimming dedication! Fast forward 30+ years, and the Frogs of 2008 are carrying forward the legacy that many of their parents and friends established: Teamwork, Training and Development and most important, FUN! This year will prove to be nothing less. Achieving the coveted Triple-Crown in 2004 (Division A Champions, Gloucester County Champions and Tri-County Champions), the Greenwood Park Frogs swim team is all about summer fun. Swimming against Tri-County teams in the B division, the Frogs will get to meet some teams they have not seen in competition in decades. With a seasoned coaching staff to guide our Frogs and Tadpoles through summer practices and meets, swimmers of every skill level will benefit from personalized, age-group training. Whether you are already tearing up the pool as a veteran, or a newcomer to the sport, Greenwood Park Swimming is definitely the place to be. Fun competition, team activities, unique development opportunities…and its all right here in Washington Township at a really awesome community club! If this sounds like a cool deal to you, we invite you to join us at our annual Swim Team Sign up event on Thursday, April 24th from 7pm to 9pm in the 11-12 Cafeteria of the Washington Township High School. Swim Team committee members and coaches will be on hand to answer all your questions. So spread the word and tell your friends and neighbors about Township’s best kept secret. There is plenty of room in the pool for more Frogs. Be sure to check out the websites at www.bellslake.com and www.gpfrogs.com for more information. We invite you to join us at Greenwood Park today and experience all the club has to offer! See you soon!
